STE-THERESE, Que. - Two men in their early 20s are dead after being struck by a commuter train north of Montreal.

A police spokesman says investigators believe the men were walking along the track in a wooded sector.

The incident occurred this afternoon near a tunnel that passes under a highway.

Jonathan Germain, a spokesman for the Therese-De Blainville police, says the deaths were confirmed at the scene.

No passengers aboard the train were hurt.

Officials with the transit authority and Canadian Pacific, which owns the track, are at the scene conducting an investigation.
