Two local California Lottery May winners announced

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The California Lottery on Thursday announced two winners in San Diego County this month — a sum totaling just over $5 million.

In Oceanside, Deloria Cooper purchased a Lucky 7’s Scratchers $20 ticket at 7-Eleven on Via Las Rosas, according to CA Lottery. That ticket turned out to be worth $5 million.

The Lucky 7’s Scratchers ticket gives you 31 chances to win the top prize of $5 million, with the overall odds of winning any type of prize is 1 in 3.67.

In El Cajon, Joshua Flores was going for a routine diaper run while shopping at a Walmart Supercenter when he decided to play a Mystery Crossword Scratchers game. A $10 ticket produced a profit of $1,000.

“I was so stoked that I called my girlfriend and told her. It was pretty cool. I went back in there and grabbed more diapers,” Flores told the California Lottery about his win.

The top prize for Mystery Crossword Scratchers is $750,000. The overall odds to win any type of prize for that game is 1 in 3.47.
