Two killed in Pepin County crash

Aug. 6—PEPIN COUNTY — Two people were killed in a Friday crash in Pepin County that set one of the vehicles involved on fire.

Pepin County authorities got calls about the crash shortly before 3 p.m. Friday, with callers reporting one of the vehicles on fire with people trapped inside east of Highway 10 and Sylvester Road. A passerby was eventually able to free the trapped occupants and, along with several other bystanders who had medical training, began aiding the crash victims.
