Investigators say they believe this brand has been targeted due to a security flaw for which there is a fix. The police department asks owners of Hyundais or Kias to check with a Hyundai or Kia dealership to ensure this flaw has been corrected in their vehicles.

Police also ask anyone with video of suspicious activity to share it with them.

Additionally, officers ask other residents to lock their cars and not leave their keys inside their vehicles.
