Two hospitalized after E-Scooter sparks fire in Bedford County

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR)– The Forest Fire Department reports two people were hospitalized during a house fire early morning on Sunday, April 7.

According to the fire department, crews were dispatched at 5 a.m. on a report of a house fire and arrived to find a two-story home with smoke showing. The owner of the residence told the Fire Chief on the scene that an e-scooter in the basement was the cause of the fire.

Units were able to put the fire out before it could extend further into the home.

Bedford FD responds to residential fire in Montvale

The fire department reports two residents were transported to Lynchburg General ER for smoke inhalation.

The Bedford County Fire Marshall’s Office is currently investigating the fire.
