Two Gaithersburg teens released after arrest for armed robbery

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (DC News Now) — Two Maryland teens were arrested for a strong-armed robbery outside a McDonald’s have been released to their guardians according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.

The 14-year-old and 16-year-old were arrested on March 12 following the robbery in the 9100 block of Rothbury Drive.

Police said the teens took a man’s sweatshirt and sneakers while armed.

They were both charged with robbery and the 14-year-old was also arrested for handgun related charges.

At the time of his arrest, police say he had two loaded PMF handguns.

The two teens were transported to the station following their arrest and have since been released to their guardians.
