Two from Dunbarton identified in fatal motorcycle crash in Manchester

May 20—The two people killed in a collision between a motorcycle and a car Friday night in Manchester have been identified.

The motorcycle operator and his passenger were identified as Brandon Grant, 34, and Jamie Van De Car, 38, both of Dunbarton.

Van De Car was pronounced dead on the scene, while Grant was taken to a local hospital, where he later died, according to a news release.

According to police, a 43-year-old Manchester man driving a 2021 Honda Accord had been traveling south on Elm Street and made a U-turn at 1205 Elm St. As the vehicle turned, it hit a motorcycle traveling north on Elm Street. The crash took place around 8 p.m.

The operator of the car, whom police have yet to identify, was uninjured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
