Two drivers and one pedestrian dead after crash on I-25

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), a head-on collision took the lives of two drivers, and a third person was killed while trying to render aid on I-25 at Circle Drive on Sunday, May 26.

At around 4:45 a.m., CSPD received a call about a wrong-way driver on I-25, but while the call was still being taken, multiple other calls were received about a head-on collision.

After the crash, a person stopped and exited their vehicle to attempt to help the people in the crashed vehicles, but while crossing the interstate, was struck by another car on northbound I-25.

CSPD and the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) responded and found that the pedestrian and one of the drivers were dead on the scene. The driver who had been driving the wrong way on the interstate was taken to the hospital but died upon arrival.
