Two-car crash blocks off intersection in Elmira early Friday

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) — A portion of the E Church Street and Madison Avenue intersection was blocked off due to a two-car crash in Elmira Friday morning.

According to an 18 News reporter at the scene, the crash between a white minivan and a grey sedan sometime around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, March 15, caused part of the intersection to be blocked off while some of the lanes remained open to traffic. The Elmira Fire Department and Police Department were seen cleaning up the scene.

Traffic slowed following one-car crash on Clemens Center Parkway

Heavy debris was seen near the middle of the intersection as fire crews worked to clean the roads as tow trucks arrived around 8:40 a.m. As a result of the crash, one woman walked herself into an ambulance and was taken to the hospital.
