Two boaters rescued by Coast Guard after becoming stranded near Hopedale
ST. BERNARD PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The Coast Guard rescued two stranded boaters near Hopedale, Louisiana, on Saturday, April 20, after their boat became disabled.
Coast Guard officials said watchstanders received a report of “two overdue boaters” on a 23-foot boat in Hopedale around 10:30 p.m. on Friday.

A Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and a response boat crew were then dispatched to the area to search for the boaters.
According to the Coast Guard, the boaters were found stranded in a disabled boat on Saturday morning.

They said crews transported the boaters onto the helicopter and brought them to Hopedale Marina in St. Bernard Parish, where they were last reported to be in stable condition.
