Two arrested in Sandy Police undercover child predator sting

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two men were arrested in an undercover child predator sting conducted by Sandy Police and other law enforcement agencies within the past week.

Officials say police used a variety of social media platforms to pose as underage boys and girls, prompting several people to reach out online for sex, believing the investigators to be children.

As a result of the undercover operation, police arrested 29-year-old Alexander Soto of Beaverton on May 17. He was taken to Clackamas County Jail and is being held on charges including luring a minor and first-degree online sexual corruption of a minor.

The investigation yielded another arrest on Friday, when police in The Dalles arrested 72-year-old George Paasch. He was taken to Northern Oregon Corrections on similar charges.

Officers say there are likely more arrests to come and will continue the investigation.

If anyone knows of any potential additional victims in these cases, they are encouraged to contact police.
