Two arrested, one wanted following second drug bust at Slidell home

SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — Two men have been arrested, and the Slidell Police Department is searching for a third after the SWAT team raided the home of a “known drug dealer.”

According to officers, they had received several complaints of suspected drug trafficking at a home in the 1000 block of Sterling Oaks Boulevard.

On Thursday, May 9, Slidell police, along with the Slidell SWAT Team, raided the home and discovered drugs were allegedly being sold from the location.

Officers said they were able to obtain a warrant to search the home and allegedly found weapons, narcotics (particularly meth and fentanyl) and paraphernalia. Also inside the home were 30-year-old Dustin Rupple and 43-year-old Salvatore Marchese, who Slidell police say are convicted felons.

Rupple, who, according to police, recently served a seven-year sentence and had been released three weeks prior. He was re-arrested on the following charges:

  • Two counts of possession of a schedule II narcotic with the Intent to distribute (fentanyl)

  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

  • Possession of a schedule I narcotic

  • Felon in possession of a firearm

Marchese was arrested on charges of fugitive warrant and felon in possession of a firearm, along with additional narcotics-related charges.

Further investigation revealed that a third person, 48-year-old Richard Dantin, was allegedly involved and is wanted by police on charges of felon in possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Slidell police add that this is the second time a search warrant has been executed at the address.
