Two arrested, 524 stolen items recovered in retail theft blitz operation: BPD

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Police Department conducted a retail theft operation that resulted in two arrests Thursday.

On April 11, Annemarie Camen, 20, and Mihela Burta, 21, both of Anaheim, were arrested for three counts of burglary, three counts of grand theft, organized retail theft and conspiracy, according to police.

Sephora staff at the Valley Plaza notified police of retail theft suspects in the area attempting to steal items, near the 2700 block of Ming Avenue.

Officers were able to locate and take the suspects into custody, recovering 524 stolen items in the process. The thieves stole from Target, Walgreens, CVS and Albertson’s.
