Twitter Reminds Trump of All the Times He Said Not to Attack Syria
Last night, President Trump ordered approximately 60 cruise missiles to be fired at an airbase Syria. The major military move was his response to the horrific chemical attack on Syrian civilians earlier this week.
The surprise order from the president marked a dramatic shift for Trump, who was strongly against getting involved in the Syrian civil war. However, he stood by his decision in a statement following the attack Thursday night, and sympathized with those who were "cruelly murdered" in the "very barbaric" chemical raid. "No child of God should ever suffer such horror," he said at a press conference.
Critics called him out for changing his mind on the U.S.'s involvement with the country's civil war. Others wondered, if Trump is so concerned with the wellbeing of Syrian civilians, why won't he let them in the country as refugees?
Twitter users dug up old tweets where the president condemned involvement with Syria:

Here are other tweets Trump posted during Obama's presidency, about staying out of the Syrian civil war:
"@mguarino64: @realDonaldTrump " How would you treat the Syria situation if president ?" I'd let them all fight with each other-focus on US!

Any American who fights w/ ISIS in Iraq or Syria should have their passport revoked. If they try to come back in, send them to Gitmo.

If Obama attacks Syria and innocent civilians are hurt and killed, he and the U.S. will look very bad!
- Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 30, 2013
President Obama, do not attack Syria. There is no upside and tremendous downside. Save your "powder" for another (and more important) day!

We should stay the hell out of Syria, the "rebels" are just as bad as the current regime. WHAT WILL WE GET FOR OUR LIVES AND $ BILLIONS?ZERO

Some also pointed out Trump's hypocrisy in showing compassion for children in Syria who suffered the chemical attacks, but not for those fleeing the civil war and seeking refuge in the United States.
It the HEIGHT of hypocrisy for Trump to claim dead children in Syria moved him when HE CAMPAIGNED on hatred of those very refugee children.

Trump's hypocrisy makes clear that bombing #Syria was about his image, not Syrian children. #hypocrite

If Donald Trump truly cared about Syria he would help the refugees.

For those questioning $93M Trump spent on Syria missiles, have you ever questioned $8B/yr we give the UN to do NOTHING for Syria's children?

I don't know whether the Syria strike was a good idea, but I know dropping bombs doesn't all of the sudden make Trump a good President.
