Twitter became mildly obsessed with shoes over the weekend. One shoe in particular.

Meredith Faust started the discussion about a particular Adidas shoe when she posted this photo on Twitter. Apparently, she happened upon a place where six people standing next to each other were wearing the same shoe. Six.

If you're asking yourself "what are thoooose?", those are Adidas Superstars. If you're asking yourself why this picture even matters, it's because Adidas seemed to already had had its moment in the crazy trend spotlight. People, and teens in particular, were obsessed with Adidas Superstars in the late 90s and early 2000s. They were the only shoe to wear. Trust us.

But it looks like Adidas never did truly go away. At least, not from these responses to Meredith's tweet.

But Twitter also reminded us that when there is a trend, there are also those who buck the trend.

There is nothing like a little flashback nostalgia.
