Twin Tiers Cadet Squadron hosting Open House in Horseheads

HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WETM) – The Twin Tiers Cadet Squadron, the local unit of Civil Air Patrol, will be hosting an open house tomorrow in Horseheads for those who are interested in learning more about the program.

The open house will take place on Tuesday, April 30, at 7 p.m. at the Twin Tiers Cadet Squadron building located at 3126 Upper Lake Road.

Applebee’s to celebrate teachers with free dessert and BOGO deal

Cadets will have display tables available with information about the pillars and core values of the program in hopes of spreading awareness of CAP and recruiting new youth and adult members to the local unit.

Additionally, a ceremony will take place where several unit cadets will be promoted and guests from the Daughters of the American Revolution will be at the event to give an award. Everyone is welcome to attend.

VinFast crash that killed family of four now under federal investigation
The top vehicle safety regulator in the U.S. has launched a formal probe into an April crash involving the all-electric VinFast VF8 SUV that claimed the lives of a family of four, TechCrunch has learned. A spokesperson for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) told TechCrunch on Monday that its Special Crash Investigations division will "document the crash circumstances and the ensuing fire." The victims, who have been identified by the Alameda County Sheriff's Department as Tarun and Rincy George, and their two children, did not own the vehicle.
