Twin County Regional Healthcare releases 2023 Community Benefit Report

GALAX, Va. (WFXR) — Twin County Regional Healthcare (TCHR) released its 2023 community benefit health and economic well-being report for Carroll and Grayson Counties, and the City of Galax.

TCRH’s mission is ‘making the community healthier,’ and it provides high-quality care close to home and invests in the region’s overall well-being. They are committed to advancing the mission and creating places where people choose to come for healthcare, where physicians and providers want to practice, and where employees want to work.

The report highlights the hospital’s continued efforts to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community. This includes welcoming new providers, adding and expanding service lines, and investing in facilities and healthcare technology.

As a leading healthcare provider in Carroll and Grayson counties and the City of Galax, Twin County Regional Healthcare is committed to providing high-quality care close to home, investing in our region’s overall well-being, and making a positive impact on those we serve,” said Sudandra Ratnasamy, CEO of Twin County Regional Healthcare. “This year’s report highlights our continued efforts to provide compassionate care – both inside and outside our hospital walls.”

In 2023, TCHR added providers in cardiology, family medicine, inpatient dialysis, and pediatrics. The hospital also added more than $1.4 million in capital improvements, such as several bassinets for the Women’s Health Unit, a new PICC line ultrasound, two new ultrasound systems, two new hematology analyzers, and relocated needed services to the Curtis Barlett Medical Complex.

Additionally, TCRH donated more than $8.3 million in health services to those in need, continuing its efforts to ensure everyone has access to necessary care without finances being a blockage to care.

“We are proud to call Carroll, Grayson counties, and the City of Galax our home, and we feel incredibly grateful for the continued support of all those who entrust us with their care. Our success would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our providers, employees, and volunteers, “said CEO Ratnasamy. “As we look ahead to the future, we are so excited to continue improving the ways we serve our neighbors and communities.”
