TV Ratings: ‘Bachelorette’ Bests Stanley Cup Finals

Despite competition from Game 4 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals, ABC’s “Bachelorette” came out on top in Monday’s ratings, helping ABC win the night with an average 1.7 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million total viewers overall.

NBC came second overall thanks to its Stanley Cup coverage from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., finishing the night with a 1.3 rating before adjustments, up a tick from Game 1 as the Pittsburgh Penguins triumphed over the San Jose Sharks. Despite the ratings win, CBS managed to beat the Peacock in total viewers, with the Eye drawing 4.6 million, topping NBC’s 4 million with repeats of “Mom,” “2 Broke Girls” and “Scorpion.” CBS and Fox tied for third in the ratings, both scoring a 0.8. Overall, Fox’s viewers totaled 3.3 million, while the CW drew 1.1 million.

The Bachelorette” bounced back from its Memorial Day dip with a 2.0 rating and 6.8 million viewers from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., rising 25% in the demo and seeing off Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance” (1.0 rating, 4 million viewers) and “Houdini and Doyle” (0.6 in adults 18-49, 2.6 million viewers). That was followed by “Mistresses,” which nabbed a 0.9 in the demo and 3.5 million viewers, up 29% from last week’s premiere rating.

A new episode of The CW’s “Reign” drew a 0.3 in the demo and 1 million viewers, while the season finale of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” built on its lead-in to earn a 0.4 rating and 1.3 million viewers.
