TRAILERS

Showtime has released the official poster and trailer for its new series, “SMILF.” The show, starring Frankie Shaw as Bridgette Bird and Rosie O’Donnell as her outspoken mother, will premiere Sunday, Nov. 5 at 10 p.m. on Showtime. Watch the trailer below.

Netflix has released the trailer for Spike Lee’s first TV series, “She’s Gotta Have It” — based on his 1986 film of the same name. The series will make its global debut on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 23. Watch the trailer below.

CASTING

Starz, in association with Sony Pictures Television, announced today that two key roles have been cast for “Outlander” Season 4, which began filming this week in Scotland. Maria Doyle Kennedy (“Orphan Black,” “The Tudors”) will star as Jocasta, Jamie’s strong-willed aunt, while Ed Speelers (“Wolf Hall,” “Downton Abbey”) will portray Irishman Stephen Bonnet, a pirate and smuggler. The season will include 13 episodes based upon “Drums of Autumn,” the fourth of eight books in Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling “Outlander” series.

Shemar Moore will return to “Criminal Minds” as a guest star in the current season’s fifth episode, which will air Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 10 p.m on CBS. Moore, an original “Criminal Minds” cast member, will reprise his role as Derek Morgan. The episode will portray Morgan’s return to the BAU to help Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) deal with an emotional case. Moore will also star in the upcoming CBS reboot of “S.W.A.T.”

EXECUTIVE NEWS

AMC Networks International has appointed Marco Frazier to the new role of Senior Vice President, International Distribution of Digital and News Platforms. Based in Italy, he will oversee worldwide distribution of AMCNI’s linear channels with new and digital platforms.

NBCUniversal’s Bravo & Oxygen Media has promoted two members of the Oxygen team. Samantha Bloom has been elevated to Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing & Promotion Strategy, while Nancy Mazzei has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Creative & Brand Strategy.

PREMIERE DATES

“Bushido Battleground,” El Rey Network‘s new martial arts series hosted by former NFL safety Tony Parrish and former MMA fighter Nate Quarry, will premiere Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 10 p.m. ET. The 20-episode series will showcase battles between elite fighters from around the world in mixed martial arts, submission jiu jitsu, full contact kick boxing, and Muay Thai.
