Rumors of Tom Brady’s demise have been greatly exaggerated.

A week after a heartbreaking loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII, the New England Patriots quarterback reminded everybody life as an NFL MVP isn’t so bad, after all, sharing with the world a public display of affection on Instagram with supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen in Costa Rica.

“This Sunday’s outcome is a lot better than last Sunday’s,” Brady wrote, accompanied by the hashtag #losingstreakstopsatone

Before the Super Bowl, reports hinted the 2017 season may have been his last, that his relationship with coach Bill Belichick was on the fritz, and that he was going to lose his offensive coordinator to the rival Indianapolis Colts. The loss to the Eagles was sandwiched by a Boston radio host insulting his children and a Boston sports columnist publishing a misguided story about his contract demands.

Something tells me he’ll be able to keep his mind off the noise. Can’t quite put my finger on it.

And if his 505 yards and three touchdowns against zero interceptions in the Super Bowl wasn’t enough, let this be a reminder, even at 40 years old, Brady is still capable of scoring at a high rate.
