Turkish Investigators Enter Saudi Consul's Home 2 Weeks After Khashoggi Disappearance

Turkish investigators entered the Saudi consul-general’s house in Istanbul on October 17, more than two weeks after the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and as reports emerged from Turkish sources saying he was tortured and beheaded.

The team of investigators used a drone to examine the compound from above, according to Turkish media, and entered Mohammad al-Otaibi’s house. The consul-general returned to Saudi Arabia on October 16, according to Turkish media.

On October 17, Middle East Eye reported that a Turkish source listened to a recording of Khashoggi’s last moments. They also reported an abridged recording was given to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, which has not released it.
