This is how Tulare County is preparing for storms

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KGPE/KSEE) – Sandbags are being made available in Tulare County as more wet weather is expected in the coming days. County officials are also checking bridges and water levels to make sure residents can continue to get around when the rain arrives.

Tulare County Fire has self-serve sandbag locations at these fire stations:

  • Kings River – Station 2.

  • Dinuba – Station 3.

  • Cutler-Orosi – Station 4.

  • Alpaugh – Station 9.

  • Lemon Cove – Station 13.

  • Three Rivers – Station 14.

  • Lindsay – Station 15.

  • West Olive – Station 19.

  • Doyle Colony – Station 20.

  • Tulare – Station 25.

  • Pixley – Station 27.

  • Earlimart – Station 28.

Bridges have been checked in the Three Rivers area and will continue to be examined throughout the weather, event according to Tulare County officials. Additionally, Lake Kaweah and Lake Success are at 20% capacity (as of Jan. 30) and Cutler-Orosi and Antelope/Yokohl water levels are being monitored.

Canal pumps are also in place near Strathmore.
