All TUF 17 Finale Athletes Drug Tested, All Negative

Every single fighter on The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale fight card was drug tested following their bouts at the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas on Saturday, Aug. 13, according to the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Every single fighter was also cleared, every test returning negative results.

Friends and former teammates Urijah Faber and Scott Jorgensen headlined the card with Faber winning the bout by submission in the fourth round.

Kelvin Gastelum surprised most onlookers with his split decision victory over Uriah Hall, the consensus favorite to win The Ultimate Fighter final. Gastelum walked away with a six-figure UFC contract and the title of the season 17 Ultimate Fighter.

The fight that stole the show, however, was a women’s bantamweight showdown between former Strikeforce champion Miesha Tate and Cat Zingano. Scoring Fight of the Night honors, Tate carried the momentum throughout the fight until Zingano turned the tables late in the second round before scoring a TKO stoppage in round three.

Zingano won a TUF 18 coaching slot opposite UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and a shot at her belt later this year.
