COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A wet and cloudy start to the week as a round of showers and few thunderstorms moved through. For the remainder of the evening we are seeing a break from the rain; however, more energy will start to lift into the region through the overnight. Do not expect anything severe other than another steady rainfall event.

By Tuesday afternoon we finally see a break for the overcast skies and dreary conditions with more breaks in the clouds and temperatures warming into the low 80s. There still is a low end severe threat by Tuesday evening across the southeast as the main low finally rotates eastward. Storms that pop-up will be mostly aided by daytime heating, but will pose a threat with heavy rainfall and gusty winds.

By Wednesday morning still off to a cloudy start then the clouds slowly dissipate through the day whilst temperatures steadily warm back to more seasonal readings. Thursday will likely be the warmest day of the week with upper 80s possible and more sunshine before another storm system arrives by the end of the week.

Another storm system moves through the southeast Friday and into Saturday. It’s too early for specifics with this system, but get ready for another widespread rainfall event with scattered showers and storms and potential for severe weather.
