Tuesday Outlook: Windy conditions, upper 50 temps in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Spotty showers and mountain snow exit the Carolinas quickly this morning leaving behind gusty winds that dominate for much of this Tuesday. Temperatures are cool and chilly to start sitting in the 40s around uptown and 30s in our mountain counties.

Tuesday will be sunny & breezy as winds pick up out of the northwest between 10 and 20 miles per hour. Wind gusts will be as fast as 30 miles per hour if not more at times with mountain counties gusting as fast as 50 miles per hour if not more.

Look for a Wind Advisory to be in effect all morning long for Uptown and surrounding counties. A High Wind Warning will be in place for Ashe, Avery, & Watauga Counties through 3 o’clock this afternoon.

Be sure to secure any lawn furniture or decorations as winds continue to blow. Sunshine will dominate as high pressure builds through mid-week.

We’ll sit just above normal for the rest of the week with low 60s taking hold Wednesday through Friday. Overnight lows will dip into the 30s while highs sit in the low 60s before a cold front ushers in 50s for the Weekend.

Saturday will host a few spotty showers to start the weekend before we dry out heading into Monday of next week.
