Tuesday Outlook: Cloudy, near-80 temps around Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Tuesday will sit in the 50s and 60s early in the day as sunshine slowly decreases throughout the afternoon. Look for this morning to be cool and mild with relatively light winds.

After a slightly warmer start to the day we’ll make a run for the upper 70s and near 80 degrees under partly cloudy skies. We’ll watch as an approaching cold front sparks more showers and potential storms this afternoon and evening. Rain will impact the far western portions of our state this morning before crossing into our mountain counties.

We can expect the higher elevations and mountain counties to break up much of today’s rain but still can’t rule out the showers impacting the Queen City this evening.

Tonight will dip into the low 60s as we stay mild heading into Wednesday. Skies will make way for sunshine and warmer temperatures as low to mid-80s linger through mid-week.

Friday will finish off the work week with the mid-80s and increasing clouds as yet another cold front approaches the Carolinas. This will trigger the potential for more rain and storms heading into the weekend as Saturday falls back into the upper 70s for afternoon highs.

80s return on Sunday to finish of the weekend as rain and storms taper off. Sunshine will return by Monday with highs settled in the mid-80s to kick of the work week.

Today: Increasing Clouds & Warm. High: 80.

Tonight: Partly Cloudy & Mild. Low: 60.
