Tuesday Morning appoints former DSW executive John Rossler as its chief operating officer

DALLAS (AP) -- Discount home decor retailer Tuesday Morning has named John Rossler, a former executive with discount shoe store chain DSW, as chief operating officer, saying he will help "revitalize" the company.

Revenue at stores open at least a year, a key retail measure, had dropped for the two fiscal years through June 2012, although trends have improved since then. The Dallas company is expected is expected to report its second-quarter financial results after the market closes Tuesday.

Rossler has been an executive adviser to Tuesday Morning Corp. since October. He was previously a consultant for Pivotal Strategies, which serves small- to mid-sized businesses. From 2002 to 2004, he was CEO of Retail Ventures Inc., a holding company that included DSW and Filene's Basement. Before that, he worked with DSW.

Tuesday Morning sells home furnishings and housewares at discount prices. The Dallas company has more than 830 stores in the U.S. It

Shares of Tuesday Morning fell 3 cents to $6.82 in morning trading on Tuesday.
