The Truth About Sasha Obama's Yawn During the Inaugural Address

Kids will be kids, but after a very public kid moment at inauguration, the First Kid is having a long day. Sasha Obama was emitted a big yawn during her dad's big speech. Here's a GIF:

The yawn came after this line in President Obama's speech: "No single person can train all the math and science teachers we’ll need to equip our children for the future, or build the roads and networks and research labs that will bring new jobs and businesses to our shores. Now, more than ever, we must do these things together, as one nation, and one people."

Obama had paused for applause when the camera cut to Sasha, her sister, and her mom. Sasha continued clapping all the way through. Now mind you, Sasha is 11 years old, and she's already had a busy morning. Before all this pomp and circumstance the First Family went to church, and getting ready for today's stylish festivities probably wasn't the same as rolling out of bed to go to school.

Still, some predicted Sasha's yawn might come back to haunt her:

Remember, Sasha is getting a bit of a reputation as the sassy sister. There was her response to her dad's joke about going to school in the morning during the DNC. And yesterday she told her father, "Good job, Daddy," after taking the official oath of office, adding: "You didn’t mess up." And then, of course, he sort of did. See? Long day for everyone.
