A California brewing company is getting political with its upcoming beer release.

The Half Moon Bay Brewing Company announced its newest beer, named ArticALEs of Impeachment, as the Senate impeachment trial began on Tuesday.

“A good wordplay beer name is always hard to pass up, and once we had a name we remembered the photo of the speaker [Nancy Pelosi at the State of the Union], and it blossomed from there,” Half Moon Bay Brewing Company’s chief executive officer Craig Carroll tells Yahoo Lifestyle of its latest creation.

Customers can expect hints of West Coast IPA brewed with Simcoe, Citra, Ekuanot and Columbus hops to satisfy their tastebuds.

“It has strong aromas of tropical fruit up front and a bitter bite on the finish,” Carroll says.

The ArticALEs of Impeachment beer is not the first time the brewery has mixed politics and potables. The latest release is a part of its “Alection” beer cycle, a collection of politically-themed beers it has created for the last three presidential elections.

Although the beers are inspired by current events, Carroll says his aim is not to be partisan but to inspire people to make their voices heard.

“We’re not trying to send a political message,” he tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “Hopefully, it will remind people to vote not just with their beer tastes but also at the ballot box.”

Carroll adds: “If we can get a smile out of someone or a small chuckle, I think that goes a long way to making the whole situation a little more lighthearted.”

The beer will be available at the Half Moon Bay brewpub in Half Moon Bay, Calif., and at its Pacific Standard Tap Room in Berkeley, Calif., on February 3. The brewing company will be following this release on March 3 with Democratic primary and President Trump-themed beers in time for Super Tuesday.
