Earlier Monday, Trump approved emergency declarations in several states and lashed out on Twitter about everything from AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka to "the Squad" to the "LameStream Media."
He also retweeted several posts from the National Hurricane Center about Dorian and some other tweets about a boat fire near Los Angeles.
The president has no public events scheduled for Monday, according to his schedule.
Before a briefing on the hurricane Sunday at FEMA headquarters, Trump described Dorian as a "one of the biggest hurricanes that we've ever seen" and repeatedly expressed amazement that a storm could reach Category 5 status.
Trump also canceled a planned trip to Poland to monitor the hurricane and sent Vice President Mike Pence in his place.
