Trump is touting experimental drugs for COVID-19, saying they're 'not going to hurt' people. But the drugs have severe side effects, and misuse has led to poisoning and even death.

Puhleez. The only one who can prescribe and treat a patient with that medication is a licensed Medical Doctor. I seriously doubt that an MD will consult with Trump and follow his directive in regard to this issue.
My question is why this specific drug? Does he have a stake in it financially? Look this drug is dangerous and has side effects that are very serious if not appropriately taken right. It can inhibit clotting factors causing a persons skin to weep blood, cause cardiac arrest, cause anemia, etc...
So if trump has a friend or family gets the virus, these meds would be fine for them.
"What do I know, I'm not a doctor ... but I have common sense." Trump said yesterday....
I like this stuff. I really get it. People are surprised that I understand it. Every one of these doctors said, “How do you know so much about this?” Maybe I have a natural ability. Maybe I should have done that instead of running for President. This is what he said in early March.
This is the problem - Trump boast he knows everything and when it gets worse, he says he doesn't know anything or is not responsible.
He admitted that his knowledge of the potential risks of the drug was limited, adding: "What do I know, I'm not a doctor ... but I have common sense."
When did he develop common sense?
"A study reported hydroxychloroquine did no better than a placebo.
If any of these treatments are proven to work, that would be fantastic. But taking them is not risk-free. In March, the ANSM, France’s drug safety agency, urged caution because some COVID-19 patients treated with hydroxychloroquine died of cardiac arrest. "
Don't forget that there are people with lupus who really do need these drugs. Excessive use of any antibiotic, like Eurythramicin, will speed the evolution of resistant bacteria, shortening the useful life of the drug. We have a lot to lose.
Trump's comments have already hurt people because due to hording people that had prescriptions for APPROVED uses of the drugs can no longer get the medicine they NEED.
I an a couple of million other people who served in Vietnam took Chloroquin - Primoquine for malaria. It does a real number on a lot of people in terms of side effects, nausea, cramps, fatigue, muscle pain. If Trump had taken it for a year, even without going to Vietnam, I'd be more inclined to listen to him.
The drug helped my daughter start to improve from the pneumonia caused from the virus. If you want to wIt months for clinical trials, go ahead. However, I don’t think my daughter would be alive no without it.
Trump knows nothing. How can he stand up there and tell people a drug will not hurt them when the experts say that it has not been tested enough to know what it would do. If you are smart you will listen to the doctors and professionals that know what they are talking about.
People running out of money to eat with is also going to have some side effects.
