Trump testifies for 2nd day at Chicago trial
CHICAGO (AP) — Donald Trump is back on the witness stand for a second day, testifying at a civil trial in which he's accused of making false promises to entice an investor into buying condos at his Chicago skyscraper.
Wednesday's questioning was contentious, with Trump and the plaintiff's attorney talking over each other. The federal judge interjected, telling the sides not to argue.
At one point the plaintiff's lawyer, Shelly Kulwin, told Trump, a New Yorker, to wait until he finished with the question, saying sharply, "We're in Chicago. We go a little slower."
In her lawsuit, investor Jacqueline Goldberg claims she was offered a share of profits from building amenities but that the deal was quietly withdrawn.
Trump's lawyer says Goldberg signed documents giving executives the power to revoke the offer.
