Trump does final walk-through, mocks press: 'I love the media — they're so honest'

Donald Trump and Ivanka Trump participated in a walk-through ahead of their speeches Thursday at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. And if there was any question whether the GOP nominee would be using a teleprompter during his highly anticipated speech, it was quickly answered.

“I love this font,” Trump said, referring to the text on the teleprompter screen inside the Quicken Loans Arena. “It’s perfect.”

His daughter, though, wanted hers to be larger.

Flanked by more than a dozen aides, convention staffers and Secret Service agents, the would-be first family discussed the lectern and stage setup for over 15 minutes.

Donald Trump then took part in a soundcheck.

“I love the media,” he said sarcastically. “They’re so honest. They’re such honorable people.”

Trump added: “It’s about time I said that, right?”
