Turns out, no one is immune from stress eating - not even the president.

After a relatively gaffe-free trip overseas, President Donald Trump returned to Washington this week to a scandal-ridden White House. While he was away, the FBI's investigation into possible collusion between his campaign and the Russian government plowed ahead, ensnaring one of Trump's most trusted advisers: his son-in-law, Jared Kushner. (Kushner is a new focus of the probe, though he has not been accused of any wrongdoing.) He's also still dealing with the fallout of his stunning firing of FBI director James Comey. That move led, in part, to the appointment of a seasoned special counsel to head the Russia investigation.

All that stress is taking a toll. According to a CNN report, Trump is "lonely, angry, and not happy" with any of his advisers.

"He now lives within himself, which is a dangerous place for Donald Trump to be," said a CNN source. "I see him emotionally withdrawing. He's gained weight. He doesn't have anybody whom he trusts."

Governing, it seems, is not a seamless fit for a real estate executive with zero political experience.

His woes may have an upside, according to another Trump ally - he may start taking advice from people with more experience in politics. "He only really listens," the source said, "when he's down in the dumps."

But unfortunately for Trump, it will be difficult to shed any unwanted pounds. He rarely works out, according to the New Yorker, because he apparently thinks exercise is useless, and that people, like batteries, are born with a finite amount of energy.
