Trump Draws National Outrage After Claiming Obama Never Called Gold Star Families
President Trump has doubled down on his claim that President Obama and other past commanders in chief failed to call the families of American military personnel killed while serving abroad.

“I mean, you could ask Gen. Kelly — did he get a call from Obama? You could ask other people. I don't know what Obama’s policy was,” the president told Brian Kilmeade on the Fox News host's radio show Tuesday.
Kelly, now Trump's chief of staff, lost his son, Second Lt. Robert Kelly in Afghanistan in 2010.
A Trump White House official told CBS News that Obama never called Kelly.
Trump unleashed a firestorm Monday when he was asked if he called the families of the four U.S. special forces soldiers killed in Niger earlier in the month.
“If you look at President Obama and other presidents, most of them didn't make calls. A lot of them didn't make calls,” Trump claimed on Monday.
Furious over the remarks, many have been unloading on Trump.
On The View Tuesday, Whoopi Goldberg said, "You don't need to bring up Obama, what is wrong with you?"
Alyssa Mastromonaco, who was Obama’s deputy chief of staff, called Trump a “deranged animal” on Twitter Monday evening.
Delilia O’Malley, the Gold Star sister of a U.S. soldier killed in Afghanistan, directed a tweet at Trump Monday, saying: "When my brother was killed President Bush listened while I screamed at him and then held me as I sobbed, you fat f***ing liar."
