Trump Calls Former FBI Director Comey ‘Cowardly’ but Twitter Doesn’t Buy It
Donald Trump took to Twitter Sunday to throw shade on former FBI Director Jamey Comey, calling him “cowardly.”
“I believe the James Comey leaks will be far more prevalent than anyone ever thought possible. Totally illegal? Very ‘cowardly!'”

The president was referring to Comey’s testimony Thursday before the Senate Intelligence Committee in which he asked a friend to share with a reporter the content of a memo he wrote following a closed-door meeting with the POTUS. That has since spurred the president to call Comey “a leaker.” Trump’s lawyer Mark Kasowitz also suggested that Comey’s “unauthorized” leaks of his private conversations with Trump are a “retaliatory” effort to get a special counsel assigned to handle the Russian probe.
“We will leave it to the appropriate authorities to determine whether these leaks should be investigated,” he said.

Back in May, shortly after firing Comey, Trump tweeted a warning to Comey not to leak anything negative about him and that he “better hope” that there are no secret “tapes” of their conversations. During his testimony, Comey welcomed the release of the recordings, which many doubt exist and are merely an attempt to distract attention from the investigation into the Trump campaign’s possible collusion with Russia.
During a news conference in the Rose Garden of the White House Friday, when the president was asked if tapes exist of his private conversations with Comey, he told reporters they’ll be “disappointed” with his answer.
“I’ll tell you about that sometime, maybe in the very near future,” Trump said. The president also asserted that “some of the things” Comey told the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday “weren’t true,” but called on another reporter without elaborating.

James Comey was trying to investigate the Russian interference into our election. You fired him to stop him. Why are you helping Russia?

One might very well argue that Donnie is both leaker and leakee.

Here’s the deal: Trump isn’t denying that what Comey said was all true.

What's totally illegal and very cowardly is abusing the power of the presidency to obstruct justice.

This is the part where he tries to pretend he fired him for leaking, and hopes you don't notice the chronology.
