WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – Former president Donald Trump and President Joe Biden scored multiple victories in Republican and Democratic primaries on Super Tuesday, setting them up for a rematch in November.

“They call it Super Tuesday for a reason. This is a big one,” Trump said.

Trump moves closer to becoming the Republican presidential nominee with projected wins in several states holding primaries on Super Tuesday.

Trump now turns his focus toward a rematch with President Biden.

Nikki Haley scored a victory in Vermont after a disappointing performance in other Super Tuesday races.

“It is time for a new generational leader,” she said.

President Biden is also the projected winner in contests on the democratic side as he prepares to take on Trump again.

“The last five polls, you guys don’t report on one in five, five in a row,” Biden said.

Some Democrats chose not to vote for President Biden to protest his handling of the Israel-Hamas war and voted uncommitted as a protest over the president’s handling of the war in Gaza.

“I think the Biden campaign really wants to nip this in the bud,” said political analyst Todd Belt.

Haley announced Wednesday morning that she’s suspending her campaign, but she did not endorse Donald Trump.
