Truck of missing Virginia man found in Greenbrier County

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV (WVNS) — The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information about a missing Virginia man after his truck was discovered in Greenbrier County.

According to the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, Lieutenant D.W. Hedrick went to Kate’s Mountain Road on the White Sulphur Springs side of the mountain after getting a complaint on Saturday, April 6, 2024 about an abandoned truck.

Lieutenant Hendrick found a white Dodge Ram 1500 parked off of the main road in a wooded area, and it was discovered that the truck was registered to 49-year-old Benjamin Baker, of Covington, Virginia.

Baker was last seen on January 25, 2024, and officially reported as a missing person on January 29, 2024 to the Alleghany County Virginia Sheriff’s Office.

UPDATE: Teenage girl still missing in Raleigh County

After an investigation, it was discovered that a person parked the truck there two weeks before, and a search revealed negative findings about people connected to the truck.

Benjamin Baker was last seen wearing red and black plaid pajama pants with a white hooded shirt. He was also wearing high-top tennis shoes. He has dark red hair and blue eyes. Baker stands six feet, two inches tall, and weigh approximately 220 pounds.

Mr. Baker has bipolar disorder accompanied by psychotic tendencies. He was also reportedly going through a “nervous breakdown” when he was last seen.
