Truck hits, kills man in Escambia County: FHP

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A 73-year-old Alabama man was killed while walking on U.S. 90A in Escambia County, Fla., when a pickup truck hit him, according to a Florida Highway Patrol crash report.

On Thursday just before 8 p.m., a Castleberry man was walking in the bicycle lane on US 90A, approaching Foxrun Road, when a white Dodge Ram changed lanes, according to the report.

The report said the vehicle, driven by a Pensacola man, initiated the lane change in the right turn lane when he hit the pedestrian.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

There were no other injuries reported, according to the release.
