Tropicana reopens to traffic following shooting

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Police are investigating an east valley shooting that sent one man to the hospital Thursday morning and closed the westbound lanes of Tropicana Avenue at Nellis Boulevard.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, just before 5 a.m. a ShotSpotter activation alerted officers gunshots were detected in the 4900 block of E. Tropicana.

Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
