Triple fatality crash in Terry County kills 3 Lubbock men, injures woman

Three Lubbock men died, and a Brownfield woman was injured, early Tuesday morning after a vehicle lost control on icy roads, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

At about 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, first responders arrived at a rolled-over 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck on U.S. Highway 380, 4.5 miles west of Brownfield. The pickup had four people inside.

An investigation revealed that the pickup was traveling eastbound on the highway when it lost traction and started a side skid. It crossed the center stripe into the westbound lane and rolled as it entered a ditch.

Johnie Davis Young, 34, was pronounced deceased at the crash. Little-Julian V. Amala, 46, and David Rosales, 40, were transported to medical centers, where both later died from their injuries. A woman in the pickup was injured and transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock.
