Investigators said surveillance footage showed the suspects punching and kicking the victim until he passed out and then going through his pockets. The suspects were also seen leaving in a gold Infiniti and a silver Mercedes with grey paint primer on the front.

Police said Rushing, Counce, and Cox were taken into custody after they found both vehicles at two nearby apartment complexes.

According to court records, Rushing admitted to arguing with the victim and then calling her family members to the hotel to defend her.

Police said Counce admitted to being present during the attack, and Cox told them he assaulted the victim and took his SUV in retaliation for something. They have not said what the fight was about.
