Trial date set for Jordan Blake Taylor in murder case

Apr. 4—CORBIN — A Corbin man accused of murdering two infants will stand trial for the death of a Whitley County toddler in March of 2026.

Jordan Blake Taylor, 23, of Corbin, was charged with Murder, First Degree Sodomy, and First Degree Strangulation in connection to the February 2023 death of a three-year-old girl.

Following a status hearing on Monday, Whitley Circuit Judge Dan Ballou scheduled Taylor's trial to begin on March 2, 2026, based on a motion from Commonwealth's Attorney Ronnie Bowling which estimated the trial would take four to six weeks.

Judge Ballou has set aside six weeks for the trial.

Taylor was arrested in February of 2023 after police were called to the home of Taylor's then girlfriend, which led to the discovery of a deceased three year old.

The child's mother — 21-year-old Alexandra Ward of Corbin — has also been charged with complicity in the case and is next scheduled to appear in Whitley Circuit Court on April 15.

Additionally, Taylor was indicted for the murder of another young child — a six-month-old infant who died in July 2020 — in Clay County in August of 2023.

Taylor remains lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center in lieu of a $1 million bond.
