Trevor Noah's take on the royal wedding is too real for some people
Luckily for The Daily Show‘s Trevor Noah, his standup date in London overlapped with the royal wedding. This gave the Johannesburg-born comedian plenty of material to work with, and his take on racial and social implications of the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry was spot on — especially since he probably wrote most of the jokes that day.
In the clip, which was shared on Facebook, Noah takes on the supposed diversity at the wedding, saying, “Let me tell you something: A black cellist cancels itself out.”
Noah delivered an extended explanation of how the wedding would have gone if it was “a real black wedding,” which included an impression of a Nigerian uncle who would have ridden in the carriage with the couple, reminding them he paid for it.
He also called the queen a “bada@#” and opined that HRH is “so over” being the queen.
Fans on Facebook found the seven-plus minute clip hilarious and shared compliments and many crying laughing emojis.
It seems Noah’s take on the royal wedding hit a chord, as it has been watched half a million times, racked up almost 1,000 comments, and has seen over 3,000 shares to date.
