Traveler had loaded gun, knife, box cutter at Charlotte Airport: Homeland Security

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Another gun was found on a traveler at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, Homeland Security officials confirmed with Queen City News on Tuesday.

Charlotte Airport traveler cited after claiming he forgot loaded gun in carry-on

The incident occurred on Monday around 7:34 p.m. at the Checkpoint One screening station. A male passenger who was passing through was found to be traveling with a loaded 9mm gun, a knife, and a box cutter.

The traveler was issued a citation for carrying a concealed weapon and was then released to continue with his travels, officials said.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police took possession of the gun.
