It's crunch time for travelers heading home for the holidays. Flights are piling up on top of each other and you could be battling hundreds, even thousands, in the security lines. Besides leaving plenty of time, here are 10 handy airport security tips to review,courtesy of the Transportation Security Administration, to make your trip as smooth as possible.

No Hazardous Items

Don't try to board with hazardous items. Sharp objects such as knives and ski poles are prohibited in carry on bags. Place those things in your checked luggage. Same goes for baseball bats, hockey sticks and most tools.
