At The Daily Herald, we strive to reach readers in a variety of ways from print editions to digital newsletter to our e-newspaper.

Through our print publications and all mediums, we are proud to put the work of our journalists on display. We especially value the loyal readership and our connection with paying subscribers of The Daily Herald, a 178-year-old institution in Columbia. We appreciate your support.

We have a rich history dating back to 1848 when we were founded and strive to carry the news forward today, well over a century later.

I want to inform you that starting April 15, we are changing how we distribute the paper. We are transitioning to a partnership with the U.S. Postal Service for the delivery of The Daily Herald. Each issue will be delivered by the postal service.

This transition is to better ensure that our newspaper delivery is consistent.

A number of economic and workforce factors have created ongoing challenges with our newspaper delivery. Delivering the print edition through the USPS is the best way to guarantee our work gets into the hands of paid subscribers.

The change will ensure that we keep you up to date with what's happening in our community from city, county and school government news, to new restaurants and businesses opening, to economic updates, coverage of the most recent Mule Day and state legislative news.

With the change to mail delivery, the Sunday edition will be delivered on Saturdays.

We know this shift will affect many of your morning routines since daily newspapers will arrive later. We appreciate your understanding and adapting to the change.

But if you need your local news with your morning coffee, we have several options.

If you enjoy reading in a newspaper format, the eNewspaper is available on your computer or mobile device, which is a replica of each print edition. That electronic replica of the printed paper is available each morning and is full of bonus content not available in the printed product. With your subscription, you also have universal access to eNewspaper publications across our network, including USA TODAY, as well as unlimited access to the USA TODAY Crossword digital app and site.

The eNewspaper allows you to:• Turn pages or skip to your favorite sections• Save and download articles or entire pages• Access archived editions• Listen to articles read aloud• Decrease or increase text size for easy reading

To sign up for email delivery of The Daily Briefing, visit www.columbiadailyherald.com and scroll down to "Newsletters" at the bottom of the web page.

These emails will provide you with highlights so that you can jump right into these stories and enjoy the rest of the paper later in the day.

As always, The Daily Herald remains committed to local journalism.

Most recent accomplishments

We are proud of our most recent past accomplishments, including winning seven first place awards in the Tennessee Press Association over the past two years for our coverage of county growth, schools, community history and the family farming industry.

We will continue to do these kinds of stories and comprehensive reporting while maintaining important work on government accountability and the upcoming elections.
