Banking technology company TransCard to expand in Tennessee, add 69 jobs

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee officials say banking technology company TransCard LLC plans to expand its operations in Chattanooga, adding 69 new jobs in the process.

Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty says the expansion represents a $925,000 investment in Hamilton County.

TransCard Chief Executive Officer Craig Fuller said in a statement that the company has a network of 180 banks that use its technology platform. Fuller says the use of cards, mobile payments and virtual payment applications in place of cash and checks is becoming more relevant in banking.

Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke says TransCard is one of the city's "entrepreneurial success stories."
