Train derailed Monday morning in Hope

HOPE, Ark. – Police said a train derailment in Hope, Arkansas, Monday morning has blocked multiple streets in the town.

Officials with the Hope Police Department said that crews have been working on clearing the derailment.

Initially, police said the incident had blocked east-west crossings at 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th and 8th Streets, as well as north-south crossings at Elm and Hazel Streets.

An hour later, police crews updated the closings to include only the crossings at Division and 2nd Streets.

There is no word at this time on any injuries connected to this derailment. Officials have also not released any information on the cause of the derailment.
