‘Tragic accident’: Man falls to his death in Brown County

FAIRVIEW (KSNT) – The Brown County Sheriff’s Office reports a man is dead following an incident in the City of Fairview on Monday.

Brown County Sheriff John Merchant said in a press release that first responders were called around 10:30 a.m. on March 18 to a business in the 800 block of W. First Street in response to a 911 call of someone falling from a sign. Upon arrival, first responders found the individual had fallen around 60 feet while working on a sign in front of a nearby business.

The man was declared dead at the scene by the sheriff’s office. The identity of the man is being withheld at this time.

“I would ask  everyone to send prayers to the family of the individual on this tragic accident,” Merchant said. “We appreciate our emergency responders and individuals who assisted at the scene. Brown County Sheriff’s Office is in charge of the investigation.”
